Garbage Collection

You will be billed directly by Republic Services on a quarterly basis.
Per the City of Hometown Municipal Code all residents must maintain garbage service through the contracted company. This eliminates the problem of garbage piling up and causing rodent infestation. Any resident not maintaining garbage service is subject to a local ordinance violation which is a must appear violation subject to a fine of $50.00 to $1,000.00.

Residential customers receive once a week garbage curbside collection and every other week curbside recycling collection. Garbage and recycling must be at the curb no later than 7:00 am on collection days and removed from the curb by 4:00 pm the day of collection. CANS MUST BE STORED BEHIND THE FRONT OF THE HOUSE BETWEEN PICK UP DAYS, NO CANS ALLOWED IN FRONT OF THE PROPERTY.

There is a E-Waste trailer in lot which houses the salt dome on Southwest Highway which is open from 8am to 3 pm daily and 8am to noon on Saturday for Hometown residents to drop their electronic items.

Each resident is supplied with a 95-gallon cart for trash and a 65-gallon cart for recycling. The trash carts are blue with blue lids the recycle carts are blue with green lids. If a resident wishes to have additional carts for trash, they can rent them from Republic Services at an additional rental charge.

Yard waste service is provided beginning April 1 through November 30. Residents can place yard waste at the curb in either paper yard waste bags or cans no larger than 30-gallons in size with YARD WASTE ONLY stickers on them. Yard Waste stickers are available at the City Clerk's Office at no charge.2023 recycle dates
